Vanilla Cake from Scratch with Raspberry Mousse Filling
loved this cake, love all your cakes actually ! loved the raspberry mousse filling and was great that you shared a few tips . Very helpful . wonderful cake.
Ingredients
For the Vanilla Cake
- 2 3/4 Cups Cake Flour
- 1 3/4 Cups Sugar
- 4 Large Eggs ,at room temperature
- 1 Tablespoon Pure Vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 Cups Vegetable Oil
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 1/2 Cups Sour Cream
- 1 Tablespoon Baking powder
For the Raspberry Mousse Filling
- 1 packet Unflavored Gelatin
- 1 1/2 Cups Heavy Cream ,whipped
- 3 ,6 ounce packages Fresh raspberries ,two packages for the mousse and extra to layer in between cake layers if desired
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
For the Buttercream Frosting
- 2 Sticks Unsalted butter ,softened
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 pound Shortening
- 1 ,2 pound bag Confectioner Sugar
